Stewed Squash
2 LBS. YELLOW SQUASH, SLICED
1 C CHOPPED ONION
1 C WATER
1 TEASPOON SALT
½ TEASPOON SUGAR
½ STICK BUTTER
PEPPER TO TASTE
Combine squash, onion, water and salt in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 25 to 30 minutes or until squash is tender. Drain and mash. Season with butter, sugar and pepper.
